GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with school staff and parents to understand students’ needs and how to deal with them.
-
Implement programs to help students with educational, vocational, personal and social problems.

Participate in Parent/Teacher conferences
-
Conduct classroom guidance sessions
-
Conduct individual and group counselling
-
Make external referrals for students
-
Assist in identifying students with learning disabilities
-
Collect and maintain current materials on educational, occupational and personal/social topics for students references.

Help students adjust to changes and pressures of adolescence
-

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR STUDENTS:

Come to school on time.

Come dressed in proper uniform.

Make sure you have all of your school supplies.

Get a copy of your class schedule and bring it to school everyday.​​

Learn ALL of your teachers' names.

Learn your LMS username and password.
-
Provide your counsellor with your email address.
-
create one if you don't have one.​

CELL PHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR PARENTS:

Know your child's grade and homeroom (e.g., 7L-2)

Learn the name of your child's homeroom teacher

Ensure that the school has a working telephone contact for you.

If your number changes, please notify the school immediately!

Be sure to ask about your child's progress during the school term by:

speaking to their teachers

checking their progress on the LMS
